Are PVC Toys Safe?

PVC (polyvinyl chloride) itself is an inherently non-toxic, odorless plastic material that causes no skin irritation or respiratory discomfort. The safety of PVC toys hinges entirely on whether hazardous additives are incorporated during production.

At Xingyi Toy, we adopt rigid PVC for toy production with zero toxic additives added, fully guaranteeing product safety. PVC is a versatile material widely adopted in multiple industries such as toy manufacturing, construction, interior decoration and food packaging.

PVC is mainly split into two grades: rigid PVC and flexible PVC. Rigid PVC takes up around two-thirds of the market share, and flexible PVC makes up the rest one-third.

Rigid PVC

Rigid PVC requires no plasticizers in production. It features high durability, excellent moldability and anti-fragile properties, without toxic substances or pollutants.

The construction sector is its biggest application field, consuming 60% of rigid PVC output, followed by packaging, toy production and other industries.

Flexible PVC

Plasticizers are essential for flexible PVC to achieve soft texture. Such material tends to turn brittle over time and lacks durability, restricting its application scenarios. It is mostly used for floorings, ceiling panels and surface layers of synthetic leather goods instead of toys.
