Plush toys are stuffed toys (Plush Toys/Stuffed Toys) with a plush fabric or cloth exterior and filled with soft materials such as PP cotton or sponge. So what are the common types of stuffing materials for plush toys?
1. PP Cotton
PP cotton, commonly known as doll cotton or filling cotton, is made of recycled polyester staple fiber and is mainly divided into two types: regular fiber and hollow fiber.
Features: good resilience, high loft, smooth feel, affordable price, and excellent warmth retention; it is the most commonly used stuffing material for plush toys.
2. Down Cotton (Silk Cotton/Hollow Fiber)
Down cotton (silk cotton/hollow fiber) is made from ultra-fine fibers of different specifications through a special process, and its texture is similar to down.
Features: lightweight, delicate and soft feel, even warmth retention, not easily deformed, does not shed fibers, and is more comfortable than ordinary PP cotton for plush toys.
3. Foam Granules / Plastic Granules
Foam granules/plastic granules are mostly small granules with a relatively high density.
Features: Primarily used to fill the buttocks and feet of plush toys, lowering the center of gravity and stabilizing the shape, allowing the doll to stand or sit stably.
4. Cotton / Washed Cotton
Made from cotton fabric through a special treatment.
Features: Naturally skin-friendly, soft, breathable, and highly safe; often used in high-end plush toys or infant plush products.
