The core raw material for vinyl toys is polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a widely used synthetic thermoplastic. Its excellent plasticity and durability make it a common material for trendy toys, designer figurines, and collectible toys.
PVC is polymerized from vinyl chloride monomers. It has excellent molding properties, accurately reproducing complex shapes, delicate lines, and three-dimensional details, meeting the design needs of art toys. To adapt to different feel and usage scenarios, the raw material is modified during production: adding environmentally friendly plasticizers increases softness, creating soft, flexible toys; reducing plasticizers results in hard vinyl, making the toy’s shape stable and less prone to deformation. Stabilizers are also added to enhance the material’s resistance to aging, light exposure, and heat, extending its lifespan.
Safety is a crucial consideration for vinyl toys. Currently, the international market has strict regulations on toy materials. The EU, the US, and other regions have passed relevant regulations that strictly limit the content of harmful substances such as phthalates, lead, and cadmium. Vinyl toys produced by reputable brands are made from non-toxic, environmentally friendly PVC that meets safety standards such as EN71 and ASTM F963, ensuring safe use.
Vinyl material has excellent paint adhesion, producing rich and even colors. Finished products are mostly painted using environmentally friendly water-based paints by hand spraying or machine coloring, while some high-end models also utilize screen printing and pad printing techniques to create intricate designs. With their unique texture, limited editions, and artistic designs, vinyl toys are not just toys, but also highly sought-after trendy collectibles.
